We grow mushrooms in small batches and harvest for the selected fulfillment window so they arrive fresh to island kitchens.

Our story
Island Mushroom is a Nanaimo mushroom grower. We focus on a small set of varieties grown carefully, harvested close to delivery, and routed to home cooks, chefs, and local shops.
From spore to harvest
- Spore. Each variety starts from clean culture.
- Mycelium. Colonized substrate is prepared and incubated.
- Pinning. Conditions shift to encourage mushrooms to form.
- Harvest. We pick at peak quality for the fulfillment window.
How we grow
We grow with care and patience, protecting the flavour and freshness of every harvest. We will share specific certification or practice details here once they are documented.
We do not make organic, regenerative, or low-impact claims without supporting evidence.
